The exact number of pilots from the Jagdwaffe who are listed as "Missing in Action" remains unknown. It is thought to be perhaps as many as 1,000. For more than ten years and using the loss lists of German fighter units from the Second World War, we have worked to gather a substantial amount of information on the fate of many pilots, especially those who served with JG 1, JG 4, JG 5 and JG 77, units about which we wrote detailed histories.

We thus hope to produce a detailed list of the "MIA"s for each of these units.

If you feel able to help us in our task, to assist us in completing these lists, then contact us and we will include your comments and information in the listings, together with your identity if you so wish.

We hope to be able to complete this site soon, also including listings of the "MIA" of the other Jagdgeschwadern. Thanks in advance!
